This map looks at every Statistical area 3 (Sa3) in Australia. The top 50 list use 2 filters to shortlist regions;
- Less than 1% vacancy rate.
- Double digit rental increase in the last year.
The ranked in order from highest to lowest based on the percentage of weekly household income allocated to weekly rent.
Queensland dominates the list and makes up the entire top 10 rankings. The state needs a massive increase in rental supply or a massive reduction in demand. Until then, the problem only appears to be spreading to more QLD regions.
